A dance and movement workshop led by professional dancer and cultural advocate Paige Shand Haami (Te Āti Hau Nui-a-Pāpārangi), focusing on improvisation and exploration grounded in her Māori culture.
Participants will engage with elements of traditional Māori movement while developing their creative practice within a contemporary dance context. The session will conclude with the teaching of a short piece of repertoire.
Artist Bio
Paige Shand Haami (Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi) is an Aotearoa (New Zealand)–born dancer, choreographer, and creative producer, deeply grounded in her Māori heritage.
With over a decade of professional experience, she has performed with leading companies including Tawata Productions, Taki Rua Productions, Atamira Dance Company, and Black Grace, touring extensively across North America, Europe, and Asia.
In 2019, she joined the iconic Le Crazy Horse de Paris as “Lola Kashmir,” performing for global audiences and high-profile figures including Janet Jackson, Zendaya, Pink, and more.
Now based in London, Paige operates as a project manager and creative producer, working at the forefront of artist development while cultivating the next generation of dancers. She leads audition processes and curates shortlisted talent for leading European companies, while mentoring artists in their professional career in the creative industry. Through her work, dancers have gone on to work with companies including Danish Dance Theatre, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Skånes Dansteater, Pina Bausch repertory seasons and more.
